This project encompassed the provision and installation of a Daikin ducted system on the upper level, coupled with a Daikin high-wall split system strategically located in the downstairs living area.

Thorough Installation of the Daikin FDYAN160AV1 16.0kW Ducted Air Conditioning System

Precision Electrical & Air carried out a comprehensive installation of the Daikin FDYAN160AV1 16.0kW ducted air conditioning system. The indoor unit was expertly placed within the ceiling space above the void, while the condenser was securely fixed on the front balcony wall, employing rubber feet for increased stability. All connections between the indoor and outdoor units were meticulously concealed within ductwork as they exited from the ceiling space.

To promote effective water drainage, two drainage systems were implemented from the indoor unit and safety tray, directing water towards the external gutter. The installation process involved precise positioning of ducting, branch takeoffs, zone motors, and air plenums throughout the ceiling space, ensuring seamless integration with the indoor unit. A return air grille was positioned in the upstairs hallway, optimising the system’s airflow and overall efficiency.

A dedicated electrical sub-circuit was established, extending from the switchboard to the outdoor unit, featuring an NHP isolation switch conveniently located next to the condenser. In the upstairs hallway, a MyZone Multipoint touchpad zone controller was installed, facilitating intuitive temperature adjustments linked directly to the zone motors.

In the downstairs living area, the Daikin FTXV80W 8.0kW high-wall reverse cycle split system was installed with exceptional attention to detail. New ducting, interconnect cables, and copper pair coils were installed to connect the indoor and outdoor units, with the condenser mounted on rubber feet to ensure stability during operation.

A dedicated electrical circuit was created from the switchboard to the outdoor condenser, incorporating an NHP isolation switch for safety. An Aspen Silent+ Mini condensation pump was placed beneath the indoor unit and connected to the nearest stormwater downpipe, enabling efficient drainage. Once installation was complete, the system underwent thorough commissioning to guarantee optimal performance.
